An elegant vessel perfect for cold brewing Japanese green teas, the Hario T Filter-in Bottle makes the tea leaves the stars of the show while hiding the strainer. Allowing the leaves to move about freely in the vessel means quicker cold-brewing and stronger flavors. Reminiscent of a wine bottle, this vessel makes for a beautifully simple presentation when entertaining guests or a feeling of sophistication during your home meals. Cold brewing tea allows the sweetness and umami of each tea to shine through while reducing the bitterness and astringency released from the leaves. This also means you can place your bottle full of leaves and water in the fridge and not have to worry about oversteeping!
Cold Brewing Instructions:
-Add 2 Tbsp of tea leaves for a 750ml bottle, 1 Tbsp for a 300ml bottle.
-Fill the glass portion up with cold or room-temperature water.
-Lightly swirl the leaves around in the vessel.
-Place bottle in fridge.
-When desired* flavor and color are extracted, pour and enjoy!
*Steeping time depends on tea type. Sencha Fukamushi can be ready in as little as 5 minutes, whereas Hojicha may take up to one hour. Overnight steeping is also ok. Teas other than Japanese greens may take much longer to steep.
