Description

Saki Midori is a high-quality, cold-resistant cultivar developed for its excellent yield and disease resistance. First introduced in 1990, it offers a vibrant green color, refreshing aroma, and a smooth, well-balanced taste. This cultivar shares many qualities with Yabukita but stands out with its bright green liquor, low tannin content, and mild, harmonious flavor. It is also notably high in amino acids.

Our single-cultivar fukamushi sencha Saki Midori was grown in Izumi, Kagoshima. Shaded for several days before harvest, the tea’s fine and medium needles boast a rich forest green hue with a beautiful luster. The infusion reveals a clear, vibrant green liquor with a fresh, grassy aroma layered with seaweed and floral notes. A balance of umami and astringency unfolds on the palate, offering deep vegetal flavors reminiscent of spinach and asparagus. A subtle red wine-like finish lingers, adding depth and complexity to this captivating tea. Whether you're a seasoned tea enthusiast or just beginning your journey, it offers a fresh and complex experience to savor.
