Description

Enrich your life with Japan’s most traditional loose leaf green tea; sencha.

Our award-winning, signature sencha is steamed in the Fukamushi, or "deep-steamed" style characteristic of southern Shizuoka, and then finished with a high roasting; the specialty of the Sugimoto family. The high heat finishing roast brings out a rich aroma and lingering umami finish that is consistent even after multiple steepings.

Enjoy the Sugimoto family’s best-selling sencha in a resealable foil pouch that will be kept fresh for months of enjoyment.

Enrich Sencha

I wrote a review a year ago as I struggled to make a consistently good pot of tea. Finally got the correct temperature and timing and now every cup is excellent and just what one hopes from Japanese sencha. I drink it every day, I am able to get 5 or 6 pourings each time. The taste gets milder, but with a floral sweetness that is likened to mountain flowers. I recommend this tea!

Fantastic!

Delicious sencha! I have tried both hot and cold brew and it seems no matter how you brew it's just fantastic tea!

Enrich Sencha Loose Leaf

This has become my favorite tea in the morning, before early meditation. It wakes me up in a gentle way.

Perfect Sencha

It smelled amazing as soon as I opened the bag, and tastes just as good as it smells! So deliciously rich and grassy-I crave it every day!

Fukamushi sencha

I drink Japanese sencha every day and always buy loose tea. This is my first experience with fukamushi sencha and the brewing is challenging. I bought a water thermometer to test the temperature is correct and also read brewing instructions online. I still don't get a good cup of tea. It is tasteless or mild after the first pour. I will keep trying as the other reviewers get better results. For me, the fine broken leaves which are close to dust, just don't bring out the flavor the same as the loose leaf normal sencha that I usually brew. (Uji sencha) I bought quite a lot of this tea so I hope I can find the brewing method for consistent flavor

Fragrant and Flavorful

Sugimoto's loose leaf sencha is fragrant and flavorful. It has all the tasting notes one would expect from a high-quality sencha. Having lived and worked in Japan and tasted sencha from different tea-growing regions, I am partial to sencha from Shizuoka Prefecture. However, since I returned to the United States, I haven't found many tea farmers in that region who can ship overseas. Now that I've discovered Sugimoto, I will be ordering more tea from this company. Very highly recommended!

Simple Green Tea

Such a great daily driver of a tea, wonderful and simple. Very rich in umami flavors, as well as very herbal.

Enrich Sencha Loose Leaf Tea from Sugimoto: A Flavorful Delight

I am very impressed with this tea, and very pleased to see it offered in a smaller portion but large enough to really get to know this tea. The aroma was a deep vegetal decent, reminiscent of steamed vegetables, with a subtle nutty undertone. The flavor profile was impressive with a balance of sweetness and umami and a distinct grassy taste that was not too overpowering. The finish was smooth with just a hint of astringency that gave it a pleasant mouthfeel and brought a nice balance to the tea. Overall, I was impressed with this tea's complexity of flavors and quality. It's a great choice for green tea enthusiasts looking for a well-rounded taste experience.

Fantastic for price

This is some of the best green tea I've had. It's grassy, vegetal, nutty, and a hint of sweet and not bitter at all. It's also a great value.
