Sugimoto’s Organic Hojicha is crafted from a blend of roasted leaves and stems from early-harvest Organic Sencha Asamushi, rather than the typical late-summer Bancha. This careful selection gives the tea a balanced, toasty aroma and smooth, earthy flavor.
Each portion is presented in compostable Soilon® pyramid sachets, allowing the leaves to unfurl fully and release their character in a 12 oz cup. Carefully crafted for daily enjoyment, Organic Hojicha offers a refined, approachable way to experience the warmth and depth of roasted Japanese green tea.
Our sachets are made from Soilon®, a plant-based, biodegradable material.
About the New Packaging
The central motif of our new packaging is the mizuhiki knot. Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese decorative cord, used to mark moments of gratitude, respect, and connection. On our packaging, it serves as a quiet symbol of these values.
To us, the mizuhiki represents the relationships that shape our tea, from the growers who cultivate the leaves, to our own team who carefully finish and pack them, and ultimately to those who enjoy them. Each knot reflects intention and care, reinforcing the idea that tea is not simply a product, but a connection between people, place, and time.
